Summer Reading–Beach Week! Sandy Creations: Fun Sand Art for Kids

Event Details

Join the Harrison Township Library’s Children’s Librarians on Tuesday, August 6th for themed activities for our “Beach Week” in our Summer Reading Program Series.

In the afternoon from 1:00-2:30, we’ll create beautiful art from sand.

We’ll have sand mosaics on paper, which requires a creative eye and a steady hand while the kids dribble sand onto sticky shapes, filling each section with different colored sand as they work toward filling the entire page to reveal a colorful mosaic design.

Also, the kids can create a unique, handcrafted bottle of sand art, a tangible memory of a playful and creative afternoon spent together. The children will squeeze the sand with squeeze bottles, carefully layering colors to create mesmerizing patterns. They can also get creative, use toothpicks to swirl the sand into intricate designs.

Register: call, click, or stop by to reserve your spot for the afternoon program.

We'll use this to notify you of any last-minute changes to the event.
