About The Board Of Trustees
The Harrison Township Public Library is governed by a publicly elected Board of Trustees.
Board meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Library, 38255 L'Anse Creuse Street, Ste. A, unless otherwise specified. All regular meetings are open to the public and public comment is welcome when the meeting begins, and again when the meeting concludes.
Dianne Marvaso
President
Dianne Marvaso is the President of the Library Board of Trustees. She has lived in Harrison Township for over 40 years and has taught preschool in L’Anse Creuse for over 30 years. Dianne and her husband Norm have two grown sons and one lovely daughter-in-law! She has been connected with the library from its inception, working on all 3 millages and organizing Cookie Walks, Vendor sales and Appraisal Shows to raise funds for our volunteer library.
John Da Via
Vice President
John Da Via is the Vice President of the Harrison Township Library Board. Until his retirement in June, 2014, he had committed his professional life to promote literacy and learning in various capacities as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 41 years, the last 40 serving the L’Anse Creuse Public Schools. His efforts on behalf of the Library Board beginning in November 2014 extend that commitment to the present.He received his B.A.Ed. and M.A. Ed, from the University of Michigan, and an Ed. Specialist Certificate and Law Degree from Wayne State University. He also volunteers at the library. He, his wife, Anne and their children have lived in Harrison Township for 15 years.
Carole Wolf
Treasurer
Carole Wolf is the Treasurer of the Library Board of Trustees. She retired in 2010 and has been a library volunteer since that time.Her business experience has been in general accounting and budget analysis for auto and health insurance companies. She received her Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College. She has lived in Harrison Township since 1997 and has three sons and eight grandchildren.
Linda Pillow
Secretary
Linda, along with her husband, Gary, and two children, moved into Harrison Township 16 years ago. Linda was active in the L’Anse Creuse School district as a volunteer, and Science Olympiad coach both at Middle School South and L’Anse Creuse High. She also coached soccer for AYSO in Harrison Township. Recently retired, Linda has been employed in the field of Social Work for over 35 years, with an emphasis in traumatic brain injury and gerontology. She has volunteered in the local community and on hurricane relief with the Red Cross.She received her BA from Adams State College in Alamosa Colorado, and a Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University.“I am proud to be a member of the Harrison Township Library Board, and to be working with such dedicated individuals. Our library offers invaluable services to our community and is poised for even greater things”.
Linda Silvonen
Member At Large
Linda worked at DTE Energy for 30 years as a business professional in multiple departments. She received her BS and MBA from Wayne State University. She has lived in Harrison Township with her husband Robert, since 1995. She has been on the library board since November 2014.
