Give the Gift of a Story

Gift the Gift of a Story text with woman reading

The library is rolling out a brand new program. We’re building an online storytime collection. As part of that initiative, we’re offering online storytime recordings free to anyone who would like to donate a few minutes and read a story. Originally, we created this program as we heard that grandparents, unable to travel or socialize, missed interacting with their grandchildren. We wanted to help them connect while at a distance. Storytimes are great for promoting early literacy and online storytimes help us all feel more connected from a distance.

Giving the gift of a story is easy. Book an appointment to read your favorite story. We’ll record your reading and turn it into a virtual storytime. Your storytime is a gift to the library and will be added to the library’s YouTube channel for others to enjoy. As an added bonus, the library will provide you with a direct link to your storytime so you can easily share it with your loved ones on social media, email, or even by text message.

Email to receive more information and to set up an appointment to have your story recorded via Zoom.
