How many people signed the Declaration of Independence?
C. 56. Thomas Jefferson was charged with drafting the declaration for the Second Continental Congress in 1776. Two of the 56 signers, went on to become U.S. Presidents, John Adams (2nd) and Thomas Jefferson (3rd) and both coincidentally died on the 50th anniversary of our Independence on July 4th, 1826.
